Mealworm Anatomy
Head: The head includes a mouth, small eyes, a pair of antennae, and a labrum. The labrum is a lip-like part near the mouth to help eating. Thorax: The thorax has three parts, prothorax, mesothorax, and metathorax. Each of these parts has a pair of legs attached to it. Abdomen: The abdomen has nine segments to it. The last segment contains the spine and the anus. The whole abdomen contains the digestive tract and it stores all the fat and food the mealworm eats. |
