Experiment 11: Tunnel
Hypothesis: We hypothesized that if we placed a 5cm piece of straw in the shoebox that the mealworms would use it as a tunnel.
Materials:
-Straw
Procedures:
1. Cut a straw into a two-inch piece.
2. Place in the shoebox and wait 5 minutes. Observe the mealworms.
Observations: There were two mealworms in the tunnel.
Conclusions: The mealworms liked the tunnel because it was dark and another place for them to hide.
Independent Variables: Size of straw, placement of straw, observation time.
Dependent Variables: Behaviour of the mealworms.
